RULES and GUIDELINES for the Short Film Competition
1. The competition is open to all filmmakers residing in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) who have films made from January to December 2011. Filmmakers should submit a proof of residence (cedula, ID indicating address, barangay clearance, etc.).
2. All entries should be original, including the film’s music and all other elements. The filmmaker should secure permission to use all copyrighted materials (music, video clips, etc.) that appear in the film.
3. Entries can be a narrative, documentary or experimental and may be shot in live action or animation. Running time should at least be five (5) minutes and should not exceed 20 minutes. Longer films may be considered for valid reasons but they should not exceed 60 minutes.
4. A filmmaker may submit more than one entry. A shortlist of finalists will be released a week after the deadline.
5. The film should have English subtitles in consideration of foreign audience.
6. Filmmakers should notify the organizers if the film contains explicit language and images.
7. Filmmakers should submit a duly accomplished submission form, one (1) DVD format and one (1) AVI file of the film, trailer in AVI format, and poster stored in CD as data. All entries should be received on or before Jan. 6, 2012.

8. The best film from each category (narrative, documentary, experimental) will win ten thousand pesos (Php 10,000.00) each.
9. Special awards are as follows:
Best Trailer for each film category
Best Poster for each film category
Audience Choice for each film category
Best Performance by an Actress
Best Performance by an Actor
10. Shortlisted filmmakers are official delegates to the festival and should attend it on February 22-24, 2012 at UPLB.
Filmmakers can also submit films for the non-competition programs.
Rules and Guidelines for Special Exhibition Programs (Non-Competition Films)
1. The special exhibition programs are open to all filmmakers, residents of Calabarzon or not. All film submissions should be original feature-length or short films of any genre and format about any of the Calabarzon provinces. The films should be made in 2011 although those produced earlier may be considered.
2. Themes and number of film submissions are not restricted. However, there is no guarantee that all film submissions will be included in the program.
3. If possible, film submissions should have an English subtitle in consideration of a foreign audience.
4. Filmmakers should submit a duly accomplished submission form, one (1) DVD format and one (1) AVI file of the film, trailer in AVI format, and poster stored in CD as data. All entries should be received on or before December 31, 2011.

5. Those who will be chosen to exhibit their films during the festival will be considered official delegates. They are expected to attend the festival on February 22-24, 2012 at UPLB.
